about me

about me

Hey, Again! I’m Emily.

Let’s be friends!

First & foremost, I’m a family girl through & through. My family, friends, & relationships are the most important things to me! There’s just something about those deep, meaningful late night talks about life that I love!

Here are some more things that I LOVE, & some fun facts about me:

  • Adventures, hiking, & traveling with my fiancé Tyler & our pup Kaiya
  • Laughing til my stomach hurts & trying to hold back the weird noises when you’re supposed to be quiet
  • Headbands & dry shampoo
  • A good IPA craft beer & can’t forget, chocolate peanut butter ice cream! 🍦
  • I’m from Pennsylvania, lived in Arkansas for 2 years, and now live in beautiful Colorado!

Most days you can find me camped out in my home office with my pup at my feet, working from my computer to educate and empower my community on how to build an online fitness and lifestyle business as a means of creating their best life.

My job is quite literally: to help people become the happiest, healthiest versions of themselves – all while doing the same for myself.

I’m here to tell you that it’s OKAY to want more out life. That you aren’t weird for day-dreaming of MORE. And that you aren’t the only one feeling like you’re living in a world full or robots who are “okay” with going to a job they hate for the next 50 years.

Pretty awesome, right?!

My life hasn’t always looked like this though… Just a few short years ago, things were very different.

My life hasn’t always looked like this though… Just a few short years ago, things were very different.

How it began…

In my life, I always followed a plan.

I went to school, played sports, went to college, got a degree, got a job, went back to college and got my Masters, and was working my way up the ladder quickly in Corporate America.

However, something was missing. I couldn’t shake this feeling that I had a deeper purpose. I needed more fulfillment in life.

I was already sick of the 9-5 (let’s be real, 7-6) Corporate work grind, which I was (in the grand scheme of things) JUST starting!

I can remember so vividly walking to the printer one day and just standing there staring out the window…

I wanted so badly to be able to be out in the sunshine and not go to work when it was dark and leave work when it was dark out again.

As a lifelong athlete, I knew I had a passion for fitness & health, and I also happened to love helping others.

The idea of another 50+ years stuck in a cubicle with limited vacation days and stressful days was not what I wanted life to look like.

I wanted something different, I just had no idea what. I honestly though that “Well, that’s just life, suck it up Emily.”

I wanted more freedom of time.
I wanted more out of life.

But, how…?

The path less traveled

I started Fitness & Lifestyle coaching while working & going to grad school, both full-time. Even though I was busy, I had this feeling in my gut telling me to go for it. I’m so glad I did because I immediately found that “missing piece” I had been searching for.

I found a community of like-minded people, more passion & fulfillment, and a job that I actually LOVED – one that could work around my life instead of my life having to work around it.

I knew I needed to pass this gift onto others, so I founded Team Exceed the Dream – a team of online fitness & lifestyle coaches, whose goal is to empower others by giving them the support they need to reach their personal & professional goals.

My team of coaches and I also provide the mentorship, training resources, and development tools needed to help others create their very own mobile business’ so they can live their lives by design.

I am now building the life I used to day-dream about.

I put TIME and RELATIONSHIPS first, because to me those are the most valuable things we have in life.

I am ridiculously passionate about my mission to help others with their fitness, nutrition, lifestyle, and careers, and I wake up everyday excited to do my job!

Are you looking for that too?

Changing the definition of success

Throughout my journey of always being the “busy” girl (growing up playing all the sports, “hustling” in Corporate America, running my own business from home) I’ve learned a lot about success… or rather, about MY definition of success.

I used to think success was checking off all the boxes (college, good job, house, dog, kids) & climbing the corporate ladder. But then I got there and I wasn’t happy or fulfilled.

Over time I’ve learned that success doesn’t have to mean working 50 hours a week, working at specific times, hustling, or sitting at a desk.

Success can be what YOU define it to be.

And everybody’s definition of success can (and likely will) be very different.

We have a tendency to fall into this “ideal image” of what life should be, without considering if that’s what we WANT life to be. We are numbed out to what our souls really want.

So we spend our life chasing goals that we might not even care about, simply because that’s what we we’ve been taught to do.

My mission is to change that, and to encourage people to chase the idea of success that THEY create. To chase dreams that THEY want to achieve. To build the life that THEY want. And throw out this image of the “perfect life” that we’ve believed for so long is the only option…

Intentionality, Mindfulness, & Slowing Down

For me, a HUGE change in my definition of success happened when I learned to slow down.

If you knew me a few years ago, you’d know I was always a “go, go, go” person. I DESPISED yoga. I tried (and failed) at mediation probably 47 times, and never truly felt like I got the “in the moment” benefits of it because my brain and anxiety just never stopped.

Through the years, I learned the benefits of yoga, mediation, journaling, mindfulness, self-care, knowing you’re enough, and SLOWING DOWN. It’s truly magical.

I’m a big fan of being intentional, fully present in the moment, & choosing to make the best of each day and love sharing what I’ve learned with others.

All of this was made SO much more possible when I learned how to slow down and be more intentional and mindful.

Creating my own online business has given me back my life, and I love that it’s my job to do the same for others.
